update april 2010

So 2010 is in full swing…

Feels like an age since we finished delirious? up in november ‘09!! and with the live dvd from our last gig at the Hammersmith Apollo out now, it really feels like that incredible chapter is over..

For the last 2 years or so, i’ve been working on the next chapter, those of you that follow my facebook page or my twitter will have been kept up to date on all that…

But in brief, for me to keep a career in music i’ve concentrated on opportunities in Nashville visiting there regularly. I now have a manager, Dave Steunebrink (showdown mgmt) and a new publishing deal with Provident/Sony ATV. I’ve written or co-written over 40 songs for and with writers and artists including: Pocket Full Of Rocks, Natalie Grant, Michael W Smith, Jars Of Clay, Newsboys, Sarah Reeves, Vicky Beeching, Shane Beales, Meredith Andrews, Abandon, Revive, Mike’s Chair, Tim Hughes, Jason Ingram, Reuben Morgan, Ian Eskelin…

I’m also writing a bunch of songs that don’t really fit anywhere at the minute who knows…I might have to do an album myself…ha!

I love creating…

One very exciting thing is the birth of a new band One Sonic Society… along with Jason Ingram, Jon Thatcher and Paul Mabury, we have been writing and recording new songs, and aim to release 3 ep’s over the next little while, the first to be released on May 11th (correct at time of writing). I love working with these guys the potential is huge!!

I’m also excited about working more with Mars Hill in Grand Rapids. I love that place and will be helping lead the music there regularly over the next year…

My family and I just got back from an extended, volcano delayed trip to Nashville where it was cool to catch them up on my American life, and we look forward to spending more time there together over the months to come…

Personally this year, i’ve been inspired by a whole bunch of friends and the writings of Meister Eckhart the 13th century theologian and mystic… “love knows nothing of sin-not that man has not sinned-but sins are blotted out at once by love and they vanish as if they had not been. This is because whatever god does he does completely…”

Life is good and the story continues….
