Hey… I am a musician, a husband, a father and a dog-owner. I am passionate about music yet, thirty years on, I’m only just beginning to explore all that I am capable of. I am hungry and will be learning, discovering and creating till the day I die… I am in love with words, a would-be poet even, but am often at a loss for what to say. I speak best through my guitar. I love my friends and find energy and inspiration in people more often than in solitude. I am a thinker, always questioning, always wrestling, and always trying to find a better way. I live in the moment, for the today, for the now. Everything I hope for or fear is a present reality; I strive never to wish my life away. My journey as a professional musician began in my bedroom, studying Queen songs before heading off to learn at London’s Guitar Institute. In 1987 the Stuart David band was formed, lighting up the London club scene before becoming ‘The Treasure Park’. Through those years I played guitar for the likes of Ben Okafor and Kevin Prosch before, via my work as a session musician, I met Martin Smith and Tim Jupp, two young musicians from the South Coast of England with a dream and a project. The past 17 years working and playing as a part of Delirious has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. I am proud of what we achieved: the songs we wrote and recorded, and the shows we played to millions. But while 2009 marked the end of this chapter of my life, we’re still a long way from the end of the story. The new “now” is one of collaboration and engagement, of meeting, creating and performing with people who share my hopes and heart. With a new manager and a new publishing deal I’m ready to start this next chapter in the Stu G story. I hope that you’ll join me. This of course didn’t happen because of the storm, and knowing that the safest place probably isn’t under a tree on an exposed hillside.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">It’s probably just as well as I would have squeaked and strained to get my words out.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Eden (our youngest) has really missed her friends in the UK and so is going back for a while&#8230;she has a return flight in a few months but we don’t know if she’ll be on it.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">My girls (all 3 of them) are the light of my life&#8230;a life which for the most part has been an amazing adventure together.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">We’ve dreamed a lot and taken big risks and tried to instill in our children that nothing is beyond their reach. Anything is possible.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">At 19 Kaitlyn packed her bags to go and live in California for a while&#8230;at 18 it’s Eden’s turn and the UK is the luckiest nation in the world.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">I would have said (on the hillside) that the last 2 years have been an incredible lesson in life for her, one that she would do well not to forget. Being thrown into something that she’s not in control of will happen again…and again&#8230;</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Now she can remember the beautiful way that she accepted our circumstance and diligently got on with her own transition into adulthood&#8230;learning to drive&#8230;getting a job in a foreign country&#8230;making friends&#8230;quite remarkable!</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">As we stood at Arrington surrounded by friends I would have said that the only thing we can really know and be sure of is Love&#8230;of family…of friends&#8230;of our creator.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">I would have also said that the opposite of love is not hate but fear, and to take a deep breath and make the best decisions you can when feeling fearful.
